Swimming

Some of our friends went out of town this last week. They said we could use their pool while they were gone. Taydom is in school most of the week but every Friday he is out and so we spent the day swimming. I can not believe how well the kids swim. At the beach we have very strict rules but in a pool were it is easier to see them and control the environment I let them have a little more freedom. I spent half of the day in the pool with them taking one out in the deep at a time. I did not take long and they showed me they were okay in the deep end.

Vilate found a frog in the pool. Poor thing was dead but she thought it was cool.

Vilate pulling Taydom in the inner tube while she was swimming.

In swimming lesson with Special Olympics Taydom would not jump in the pool. I tried and the aids tried but he never did it. About a week ago another friend, Taydom goes to summer school with, bought an above ground pool that is only about as deep as Taydom's chest. After school they have invited us over many times this past week. Vilate started doing cannonballs off the steps and soon Taydom and Micheal joined in too. Michael's mom said he never jump in like that before. I guess it only took a little Pier Pressur and the boy could see it was fun. Today Vilate started doing cannonballs in the pool and Taydom got right out of the pool and joined right in. I was shocked and very excited to see it. Vilate has no fear of trying something new. She watches other do it and joins right it in. She has taught herself to read and now swim. She is so cool. I hope she never looses that.

Tuesday nights there is a new show called WipeOut. I let the kids stay up to watch it. It starts at 8 and ends at 9pm. People run through a crazy obstacles course. The kids laugh so hard when the people fall and wipe out. These two videos are of the kids playing WhipeOut and Taydom making crazy obstacles for Vilate.
