Little Pumpkins

We got an early frost storm and by the time we went to get our pumpkins there wasn't any that had not been damaged from the frost. The kids were bummed and then we saw small sweet pumpkins that are used in pies and baking. Tadydom and Vilate each picked two and then we got a tiny one for Ellyse. They were too small to carve so we painted them. I think the kids had mor fun painting them they usually do carving.

Meeting the New Sister

Taydom and Vilate finally met Ellyse a few day later. Vilate had been sick and we wanted her to have a few extra days to get better. With the H1N1 virus the hospital had a rule that no children were allowed unless they were admitted. It was sad that Taydom and Vilate could not come to the hospital but it worked out because they were able to getter better and Ellyse did not get sick.

Vilate and Taydom could not wait to meet Ellyse and were all smile to hold her for the first time.

Going Home

October 17 around 7:00pm we headed home from the hospital. Tyson brought a cute pink sweatsuit outfit. Of course it was huge on her.

Bring Ellyse home was great. It was early in the evening but we all went to bed. It was a long day.

GG and Grandma come to visit

The day after Ellyse was born Grandma and Grandma Great came to visit her in the hospital. GG cries alot when she is happy and she was all tears. Grandma fussed alot too.

October 14th we were blessed to welcome a new baby girl to our family. She was born a little after 6:00 Wednesday evening.
She weight 7 lb 2 oz and was 19.2 inches long. She has very dark blue eyes and dark hair.
We fell in love with her the moment we saw her.

It took us a few days to name her but we final did. Ellyse Marie we love you and are so glad you are part of our family.

Vilate"s Baptism

October 11 was Vilate 8th birthday; it was also her baptism day. Not may people are baptized on their birthday. Vilate was very lucky to have her birthday and baptism on the same day.

Tyson baptized her in the same fount were he was baptized 13 years ago. She was all smiles as she came out of the water.
We are very proud of her making the choice to be baptized and to follow Jesus. We love you Vilate. You are truly a blessing in our life.

Baby Shower

Early October my sister hosted a baby shower for me. I was a great time. Many of my friends were braved it thought a clod snow storm to make it here with me.
We played many fun games and had a great time. It made me feel so good to have some many people come and tell me how happy there were for me.

This cute cake was made by you sister. She is so amazing. Thanks Sis. You are the best. I appreciate you and your friendship so much.

Cub scouts and lizards

October's pack meeting was amazing. One of the boy's father in our pack owns a business were he show reptile for education.
The kids loved it. Many of the boys and some of the other family members were able to hold most of the reptiles.

Taydom would not get by them at all.
It was a fun evening for everyone.

ER and EKG

One afternoon Taydom was having a hard time at school. He wanted to get away from is teachers, turn around and ran head first into a wall. The school called me and I got there as fast as I could. At first he appeared to be fine but after awhile he lost consciousness. He was out for what seemed forever. We called 911 and was on the phone with them when Taydom woke up. Because he was able to talk and move his body with out help we decided to take him to the ER rather them having an ambulance come.

The ER took him back right away. The doctor looked at him and check him out every well. First he had an X-ray of his neck to make sure nothing was broken there. Then an MRI to look at his brain. The last test was an EKG that came back slightly off. We made an appointment for a pediatrics cardiologist. A few days later we went to our appointment. They found a small abnormality in his heart rhythm but the doctor said nothing to worry about. Everything is okay

Lunch with Vilate

One day in September, I wanted to surprise Vilate with a fun lunch date. I stopped and picked up a sampler platter of lasagna, fetachnii alfredo, and spaghetti.

Vilate was so surprised and excited to see her lunch. We divided everything in half and sat out side in front of the school. We talked about everything and had a great time.

Snuggies

For Christmas Tyson gave the family some Snuggies. WE LOVE THEM! There is hardly a day that goes by that I do not use one. Taydom loves to use them while he is playing his video games. A blanket with slaves: who'd thought they would be so fabulous.

Big Helper

This last weekend was a busy one. A cold fount was moving in. We were going to have 4-5 day days of 40ish degree days and the night could get below freezing with some snow. We harvested almost everything from the garden and trimmed the trees. Taydom was a big help. His job was to cut the larger branches and plants down to be burned.
Eric, my brother, and Kacey, brother in law are both fire bugs. I think they even enjoyed them self because they had the fire going really huge sometimes. They may have made Taydom in to a huge firebug too.

HUGE sunflowers

This summer we planted a garden. Needless to say it was not one of our most successful garden, but we did get some lettuces, a few zucchini and cucumbers and HUGE sunflowers. I'm not a sunflower seed eater, I planted a few seeds thinking it would be fun to watch them grow. I can not believe how tall they got. The kid loved the huge leaves and once they bloomed they really got excited. Tonight a huge cold front is coming and so yesterday we harvested most of our garden and sunflowers. We saved some the sunflower heads to dry and roast. I never roasted sunflower seed but we will see how it turns out.

Work Shop Weekend

We love Home Depot. Every first Saturday of the month they have a kids work shop. We had not gone all summer and the kids had missed it. This last Saturday they made a bean bag toss game. They were so excited to build something again. I was so proud of them. They both did it with very little help. It's fun to watch them hammer and create something. We have to go again next month.

Scout Badges

Over the summer Taydom earned a few scout awards. September's pack meeting he got 3 awards. He got his Outdoor Activity badge, and Leave No Trace badge and his Marble belt loop. He did not want me to take his picture so I had to sneak these.

Airplanes

My brother Eric loves remote control airplanes and helicopters. He has quite a few of them and is always working on them. Taydom love to watch him work on them and program them. Taydom has been asking to go watch Eric fly his plans for a long time. Eric normally takes them to Chatfield to flight them. He meets up with other people and makes a day of it. They need a lot of room to fly. Our schedules have not work out most of the summer and so Eric agreed to take one of his plains to the park one afternoon. Taydom had a blast. The wind was calm and the sky was clear. Perfect afternoon for flying.

Tyson is OLD

August 29th was Tyson birthday. We had a great day as a family. We spent the day hanging out and doing things together as a family that Tyson wanted to do. Recently Tyson had been getting back in to golf. He's always loved it but with life happening somethings get pushed to the side and golf has been that thing for him. At his brother wedding in June Tyson went golfing and had a blast. It is really good to see him get back into it again. It brings him alot of joy and a good stress relief too.
Saturday afternoon we went to a few different golf store. Tyson tried many different clubs and found some we really liked. He decided to combine all his birthday money and get a nice set of used clubs. It was a great deal and it made him so happy to have a nice set of clubs.
Taydom and Vilate are really getting in to it too. Tyson has showed them each how to swing the clubs and they thought it was fun to swing them and hit a ball in to the net too. Of course they have pick up on it and do a great job. I guess I am the only one that's not loving it now. Maybe I will have to try it too.
For Tyson's cake he made a yummy strawberry, raspberry, plum sauce we put over angle food cake with a little low fat whip cream. Tyson also doing Weight Watcher the past few weeks and has lost 35lb. I am so proud of him and did not want wreck is diet, but he had to celibate and have cake on his birthday. The total points of 2 pieces of angle food cake with the sauce and whip cream was only 6 points. Very yummy dessert and well with in his point for the day.
Happy Birthday Bab. I love you.
